Beginning soon, our 5-digit texting code will change to 98900. We encourage you to store this number as a contact so you always know that it is from the district and our schools! You'll receive a welcome message on Wednesday (11/29) from this number. When messages come from a school they will always begin with the school's three initials so you know which school is messaging you. No reply is required when you receive this welcome message. Remember to always keep your information up to date in the school offices.


It's that time again!
'Art in the Capitol' is a competition held each year for grades 6-8 and is open to anyone at APM. Submissions are Due to Mrs. Pierce by Dec 6th, 2023.
The School District of Highlands County is accepting submissions from middle
school students for the 2023 Art in the Capitol Competition. It is a statewide
visual arts contest for all students in grades 6 through 8 attending public, private, and home schools in Florida. Each middle school in Highlands county will
be submitting art work to the district office for judging. One winner for the
county will be selected. A reception for all students who submit work will be
held at the District office on December 8th, 2023.
Winning submissions will be forwarded to the legislator of the student's respective legislative district. Each legislative district's winning selection will be displayed in the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee during the Florida legislative
session, January 9, 2024 – March 1, 2024. All artwork submitted must follow
these parameters:
• All artwork submitted must not violate copyright laws.
• All artwork submitted must be original in concept, design, and execution.
• All artwork submitted must be two-dimensional.
• All artwork submitted must not exceed 28 inches wide by 28 inches long by 4
inches thick.
• All artwork submitted must include the student’s name, grade, school, and
city in which the school is located.
All APM student artworks that would like to be submitted must be turned into
Mrs. Pierce in room 129 by December 5th, 2023. Only 1 submission will be sent
per student. Please see Mrs. Pierce if you have any questions!
