Hats on for HOCO! Each day of Spirit Week students may pay $1 to wear a hat. Proceeds will go to each class (Monday -'26, Tuesday - AVID, Wednesday - ‘25, Thursday - ‘28, Friday - ‘27). Please try to bring a single dollar bill to pay if possible. Money will be collected each morning in the Commons and you will receive a proof of payment to show throughout the day if asked. Let's show our LPH Dragon Pride and raise some money for our classes!

This Saturday, we get to cut the ribbon and open the doors to our new state-of-the-art athletic field house! Come join us from 10am-12pm to tour our new facility. The ceremony will begin at 10:15. 🐉

Congratulations to Jayden Brown, our Mid-Florida, Florida Lakes Spa, and Florida Lakes Surgical ATHLETE OF THE WEEK WINNER! Jayden, is on the swim team here at LPHS. Coach Creel had this to say about Jayden: "Jayden swam a 24.51 in the 50 free and 55.24 in the 100 free. Those are very fast times. He has been working very hard since last swim season to hit 24 in the 50 free." Way to go Jayden! 🐉 🏊‍♂️

🐲 LPHS Rumble Night 2024 is one week away. Join us on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. for an exciting evening of Dragon vs. Dragon challenges. Grade levels will be battling to show their LPHS Spirit in Flag Football, Tug of War, Musical Chairs, Tortilla Toss, and Use Your Head relays. Tickets will be $3 each for everyone who enters (including participants). Bring some extra money for food from our food truck vendors. Please bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. The event will be held on the LPHS campus this year to help accommodate any last minute weather interference. We can't wait to see everyone show their LPHS Dragon Spirit! 💚

LAKE PLACID HIGH SCHOOL BAND SEPTEMBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH DRAGONS JOSÈ RIVAS Josè is a senior at Lake Placid High School. Music plays a major role in his life. Josè is a second year member of the LPH Marching and Concert Bands and serves as a Quartermaster for the 2024 Marching Band. In addition to playing trombone in Band and singing in our new LPH Choir, Josè also plays cello, marimba and guitar and performs in his church's handbell choir. He played cello in the LPM and LPH orchestras for 5 years, and this past summer attended Pensacola Christian College's Summer Music Camp. In February, Josè performed a trombone solo at the FBA District 13 Solo and Ensemble MPA Festival and earned a Superior rating in his first year playing trombone. After graduation he plans to attend college and continue performing music. Congratulations Josè!
🐲 Next week is HOCO Week at LPHS! Students have seen our signs posted for a few weeks, but we just wanted to remind all of our Dragons that we want to see the most school spirit ever this year! The Class of 2025 has done an amazing job of picking themes that are easy and fun for everyone. We can't wait to see our LPHS Dragons show their spirit next week! 💚🤍💚

The application for students interested in joining the Highlands Career Institute is now open. The application is located on our website at any of the links or buttons that say "Apply to HCI". There have been a few changes of note from previous years of program openings in January: -The Medical Assisting program will be accepting applicants for January (must currently be in 10th grade) -The Culinary program will be accepting applicants for January (previously only had Fall enrollment) -The 911 Dispatch program will be accepting applicants for January (students must be in 12th grade) The seat availibility is currently very limited for Electrical Lineman, Automotive Service, and Automotive Collision for January, but students are encouraged to apply in case seats become available and to show interest for the the start of next school year.
