🐲 2024-2025 LPHS Supply and Fee List 🐲 As we prepare for the return of our students, we want to give you time to prepare for the supplies and fees needed for the coming year. Please note, specific class supply requirements will be provided by teachers at Orientation but this is a great place to start and take advantage of the Florida Tax-Free Holiday from July 29 - August 11, 2024.

LPHS Supplies and Fees 2024-25 Chromebook fee: $10.00 Covers 1 accidental breakage per school year. Science Classes: Anatomy Honors $5.00, AP Bio $5.00, Environmental Science $5.00, Chemistry $20.00, Biology $10.00 Fees are used to purchase chemicals and other lab materials. Culinary $30.00 Covers the entire year to cook in the kitchen. Guitar $10.00- Guitar strings. All students must provide their own guitar, either by purchasing one or renting one from a local music store. Please contact Mr. Panella for more information. Clubs Art Club $10.00 Cover cost of shirt and voting rights, Interact $5.00 All Students: General School Supplies: Pencils, pens, notebook paper, highlighters, Post-it Notes, notecards, binder, dividers. Specific lists provided by teachers at Orientation. Math Classes: Algebra 1 and Geometry Students TI-30Xa calculator Alg. 2 & AP Pre Calculus TI-84 Plus CE. JROTC $30.00 Covers the cost of physical training uniforms. Band (All Musicians) $50.00 -Includes uniform t-shirt, band uniform cleaning, and essential instrument supplies $30.00 One-time fee for new members for new marching shoes (please contact Mr. Panella for alternative options). Student Government Association $20.00 includes a club shirt that the members will design. Members who have paid their dues get perks throughout the year. Class Dues: Freshmen $20, Sophomore $20, Junior $25, Senior $15 AP World History:Book fee $20 (Recommended) Curriculum flashcards on Amazon for $26.99 (not required, but highly recommended) Business Classes $5 Covers the cost of special supplies for classes. Art Classes: Art 1-$15, Art 2 - Portfolio - $20, Ceramics - $25 Fees cover the costs of sketchbooks, painting and drawing materials, clay, and glaze. Cross Country $50.00 (cost of uniform) FBLA $35.00. Additional fees or supplies for classes, clubs and sports not listed will be provided by individual teachers, sponsors and coaches. Monies for classes, clubs, and sports are collected during class, practice, or meetings. Students may be eligible for a fee waiver. Please contact the school for more information. Welcome to LPHS Ms. Cunnane is a Social Studies teacher beginning her 5th year with the School Board of Highlands County. As an alumni of UCF, she graduated with a degree in Political Science, International Relations. Ms. Cunnane works to instill political efficacy in her students and help develop emerging leaders. Ms. Cunnane is coming from Lake Placid Middle School, so she won't have to travel far! Having previously taught LPHS students at the Highlands Career Institute, she is happy to be teaching the High School students of Lake Placid again. She is looking forward to meeting new students and reuniting with her previous ones. With a passion for history and a love for our small town, she is eager for the school year to begin. GO DRAGONS! LPHS is celebrating Giselle Carpenter who spoke today at the AVID Summer Institute in Tampa, Florida. Giselle shared her AVID experience with over 4,000 educators and students from around the country as one of three guest speakers at the AVID Tampa Summer Institute. Special thanks to Mrs. Marcy Irwin (LPHS AVID Teacher), Mr. Kevin Tunning (LPHS Principal), and Mr. John Varady (SBHC AVID Coordinator) in your support of Giselle as the featured Secondary Student Speaker at this year's Tampa AVID Summer Institute. Giselle is a true inspiration to all students and stakeholders in Highlands County!
