We are taking this week to celebrate staff for putting their hearts into APMS! Today, because we are so "Fond" of "U", we had a chocolate fountain fondue bar set up in the teacher's lounge for them to enjoy throughout the day. Showing appreciation this week would not have been possible without the community support so we would like to say a huge thank you to Cool and Cobb Engineering Company for their donation to help make this week possible! We could not do this without the community support!

We will also be highlighting all of the successes and progress students have made throughout the year in their different subject areas. Don't forget about our upcoming PBIS event on February 14th. Students that have had no referrals, no silent lunches, and no tardies from January 31st up until February 14th will be able to participate in our Ice Cream Sandwich Social happening during student lunches!
SAVE THE DATE: Mark your calendars and come SHOW LOVE for APMS at our Parent Night on Thursday, February 15th. You will be able to pick up student progress reports, get information on tutoring, speak with teachers, and watch our cheerleaders perform in the gym. Also, our academic coaches will be in the media center to show you how to access your student's FAST PM data, understanding how to read the reports, and how you can best help your student grow in any areas of need. There will be an opportunity for you to also provide input for next years Parent-Family Engagement Plan! We look forward to seeing you all on February 15th!
APMS would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Weikert Ford and their Mobile Service team. To show their appreciation for teachers and staff they provided free on-site oil changes. APMS sends a huge thank you!

For a brief time today we had a partial power outage on campus. This did not impact our normal operations and the power has since been restored. We are excited to have all of our students back on campus today!
All afterschool activities at APM for this afternoon are being cancelled due to concerns with bad weather. This includes afterschool tutoring and volleyball tryouts.

Thank you to all the families that came out for our Winter Wonderland Avid Family Night this week. Those in attendance learned more about our AVID program, strategies that AVID students use to help them fully engage in learning and there was plenty of food and fun!
This past Monday evening, the SBHC held the Summit Awards to recognize all of the Teachers of the Year and School Related Employees of the Year. We enjoyed celebrating our very own APM Teacher of the Year, Tequila Rouse and School Related Employee of the Year, Brittney Spires. We thank you both for all you do for our students, staff and families at Avon Park Middle School!
